asterisk* collaborated with Austrian Raumzeit Produktion on the marketing of the documentary SPACE DOGS. We worked along directors Elsa Kremser and Levin Peter to create the poster design, selection of stills, logline and synopsis, social media and trailer. The film is to premiere at the upcoming Locarno Film Festival.
Laika, a stray dog, was the first living being to be sent into space and thus to a certain death. According to a legend, she returned to Earth as a ghost and has roamed the streets of Moscow ever since. Following her trace, and filmed from a dog’s perspective, SPACE DOGS accompanies the adventures of her descendants: two street dogs living in today’s Moscow. Their story is one of intimate fellowship but also relentless brutality, and is interwoven with unseen archive material from the Soviet cosmic era. A magical tale of voyagers scouting for unknown spaces.
Yiannis, a fading musician, is planning to leave crisis-ridden Cyprus for a better life abroad. His plans are put on hold when his dog Jimi runs away and crosses the UN buffer zone that divides the "Greek" from the "Turkish" side of the island. Since animal exchange between the two "sides" is prohibited, Yiannis reluctantly joins forces with Hasan, a Turkish settler to smuggle his best friend back.
The film premiered at Tribeca International Film Festival, where it won the Best International Feature Award, and its international sales are handled by the Match Factory.
asterisk* worked with the film’s director and producers to deliver the international poster, which has been used for the release in many territories.

Anna and Petros, a Greek couple who recently moved to an industrial Siberian town, are shocked to discover Anna is pregnant with no prior intercourse. Did she cheat? Or blessed with a miracle? A haunting, touching suspense drama about love, trust and faith struggling in the face of doubt.

Rosie is paralyzed: caught between escaping her violent boyfriend heard screaming from across the street and having nowhere to go. Frightened by the escalating danger, Áila grabs Rosie and urges her to move quickly to the safety of her nearby apartment.
Inspired by true events, THE BODY REMEMBERS WHEN THE WORLD BROKE OPEN weaves a compellingly simple story around the complex themes of racialized female bodies, a country’s failure to support its most vulnerable youth, and the continuing effects of colonial violence.
